He was on the way to go to the Tour de France: a 25 -year -old cyclist comes across the metro tracks and dies electrocuted

A young 25 -year -old cyclist from the city of Wateford in Ireland died on Monday July 21 in Paris, electrocuted. Passionate about cycling, the sportsman went to the Tour de France.

A terrible drama. A young Wateford cyclist died after being electrocuted in a Paris metro station, according to the Irish Independent.

Tomas Walsh, 25, enrolled in the Comeragh cycling club, Ireland, was passing through Paris and in the direction of Mont Ventoux to attend the 16th stage of the Tour de France.

The man would have fallen on the tracks of a Paris metro station and would have been electrocuted there this Monday morning. “We are upset by this news”wrote the cycling club on Facebook.

A “great success”

“What good memories of races with him. We were fighting to death before laughing, recalls another teammate. A formidable character and full of fun”they added.

As the club writes, Thomas had joined them in adolescence and knew about it “A great success by bicycle, both in juniors and in seniors”. These funerals have not yet been announced and the Paris prosecutor’s office has not confirmed the facts.
