Lane Hutson was very successful in her first year in the NHL. The defender demonstrated that his offensive creativity would allow him to shine in the Bettman circuit, he who collected 66 points and won the Calder trophy.
He has surpassed everyone’s expectations.
That said, which always makes people talk about the defender is obviously his small size. Hutson is really not the most imposing on the ice, and in such a physical and fast sport, it makes sense to wonder if it will end up being problematic one day.
And in fact, it is also a fear that is shared around him. Indeed, in the second episode of the new season of the series La reconstructionthe defender’s mother admitted it: it is something that worries him:
The question of size always stresses me. – Julie Hutson

Lane’s mother is well aware that it will obviously always be a factor. However, she recognizes that her son is intelligent on the ice, which gives her a good helping hand to avoid the worst.
What is interesting is that the defender also recognizes that it is always something that runs into his head. He tries to build his game in order to avoid placing himself in vulnerable situations, but it is only enough for a moment of inattention for the risk to increase.
Obviously, we don’t wish him (really) that, but it’s interesting to see that his mother and are well aware of this possibility.
For the moment, at least, Hutson has managed to avoid danger. But a bit like Cole Caufield, it is an aspect of which he should always be aware.
Especially in the playoffs, because a heavy defeat has arrived so quickly at this time of year, the word of Alexandre Carrier.

– Note.
His absence in the training of yesterday is explained.
Neal will not be available before the end of September, or even the beginning of October. He should therefore be able to play between 0 and 4 games before the end of the 2025 season. Https://t.co/rlqhbnzkt3
