Elliott Mondou continues to cross the steps at high speed. After the NHL at 22, the video coordinator of the Blues of St. Louis will now live the Olympic Games for a second time … at 24!
Mondou will indeed be part of the Canada coaches staff for the Winter Games in Milan and Cortina in Ampezzo next February.
The Grand-Merois will therefore add a new experience to a well-filled luggage for a young person who was not born during the Hong Kong retrocession to China. He had participated in the 2022 games as a video coach. He will now do it in a coordinator’s role, but above all, in a much more anticipated tournament than that of three years ago, since this time, the NHL players are invited.
Mondou was a video coordinator for Canada at the Senior World Championship, the confrontation of the 4 nations, as well as to the Worlds under 20 and under 18.
Mondou also works for the Blues of St. Louis since 2022, first as a video coach, then as a coordinator.
Mondou and Julien Brisebois (CEO assistant) will be the only Quebecers of coaches and team support staff in Milan. On Monday, the national team revealed the identity of all staff members.
Thus, the head coach, Jon Cooper, will be assisted by three assistants, who have all already been chief coach in the NHL: Bruce Cassidy (Vegas), Peter Deboer (formerly of Dallas, thanked this spring) and Rick Tocchet (Philadelphia). A fourth assistant, Misha Donskov, will act as a coach from the bridge.
