Honda | The Prelude chassis is strongly influenced by the Civic Type R

Honda seems to have taken the design of her next prelude seriously. The coupé, which returns after a break of almost a quarter of a century, will have a chassis greatly influenced by the Civic Type R covered with praise.

Its platform will thus be equipped with the suspense elements of the Civic Type R, a first for a creation not resulting from this sports line. It will therefore have the double -axis suspension that separates the legs from the rockets at the front in order to improve stability in curve. Extended front and rear tracks and the Brembo type R brakes are also used to sharpen its behavior.

The double -axis suspension borrowed from the Civic Type R shines by its ability to preserve the stability of this car, despite its great power combined with a front wheel platform.

Honda also specifies that this prelude will receive adjustments adapted to it to ensure it a Tourism Temperament. A good thing given the fact that the Civic Type R may seem undeniably firm at times.

It should also be noted that the coupe will be animated by a 2 L hybrid four-cylinder, the same as the Civic Hybrid uses. It is not known for the moment if Honda has instilled some additional horses in the 200 products by this mechanism. The engineers nevertheless concocted a mode of report changes, despite the lack of transmission to ensure more immersive driving experience.

It will take a few more weeks to have a full portrait of this return from a Japanese icon.
