I went to one of my best last week spots of fishing, and the small mouths have almost managed to fuck my mouth.

In 2000, I won my third Quebec championship on a hyperproductive site, in the St. Lawrence River, near Saint-Sulpice. It is a rock batture bordered by a herbarium, in a portion where there is a relatively imposing current.
As per usual
Every time I go there, I start my approach by launching a spinnerbait Strike King White. I quickly quadcrust the entire sector in order to take the most active specimens. Then, I exploit the whole area with a surface lure, like a pop r or a Zara Spook Boyo. Thereafter, I use a Devon Big O or a DT6 rapala to cover the primary and secondary escarpment, as well as the grass line. At this stage, from one visit to another, I intercept a minimum of 15 to 20 beautiful pallets, but this time, nothing; Not a touch, not an attack, a big zero.
The big means
I then released a pumpkin green tube, mounted on a head of 1⁄2 ounce, to work all the elevation and the base of the sea plants, which go to bed according to the current. In 15 min, I extracted an Achigan of 2 lb and another of 1 1⁄2 lb. I was faced. My spot no longer worked. And there, all the scenarios go through my head; My favorite site has been discovered by other fishermen and they cheerfully “draw” in it, or the bass have literally changed space for a current reason or vegetation. I was discouraged by my results.
Option
Almost desperate, I knotted a drop shot montage; Not that I do not trust, on the contrary, I have an unequaled esteem for this presentation, but in waters less influenced by the current.
I attach a lead of 1⁄2 ounce in the shape of a tear, about 30 cm under a hook of size 2/0. I use an invisible fluorocarbon thread of 8 lb/test. On the hook, I impale by the nose a yum ff sonar minnow which imitates a conduct.
here we go
I reposition myself near the allegedly productive site. In eight launched, against all odds, I managed to fuck seven little mouths. Short of lures, I opted for a Sassy Shad Mister Twister of 3 “to which I cut the belly on the long. Guess what? It bit so much! Finally, in three hours on the same spotI captured and pardoned a total of 34 fish. Imagine … If I had not exploited my offering at Drop Shot, I would have completely ignored the presence of the 32 other Achigans.
The movement to be used is most simplistic. We catapult the very close to the promising site and let it wedge at the bottom. Then, we gently vibrate and jump the end of the cane so as to have the tail of the flexible lure swimming, while slowly bringing the presentation. Next time, before you discourage you, tell yourself that it’s never over, as long as it’s not over.
