“Imad Marrakech”, the man who imported Marseille methods in Brussels: he would have commanded an assassination from the prison

Molenbeek in shock: “The police and the state don’t care, they do nothing”

Error on the person

On May 25, when he was still detained, Imad B. was placed under arrest warrant for assassination as a sponsor. From his cell, he would have commanded the assassination committed on rue Wayez in Anderlecht on September 14, 2023 around 01:00. A 31 -year -old man was then riddled with 17 bullets drawn at the Kalashnikov. The victim was in his car when a second car had immobilized him. Men had left the second vehicle and had fired.

The thesis of the settlement of accounts had been privileged. From the investigation, it had appeared that the authors had targeted targets. The license plate of the victim’s car was very close to that of the target. Before Imad B., who denies any involvement in fact, eight people had already been charged in this file. Three had been arrested in France.

Three Marseillais in Anderlecht

On December 1, 2022, thirty people were sentenced as part of this trial called “Peterbos II”. Imad B. – Nicknamed “Affou” or “Mara”, from his nickname “Imad Marrakech” – had been considered the only leader of this criminal organization. The investigation had shown that he had associated himself with an important Marseille drug trafficker, Mohamed Djeha, to sell drugs at Peterbos.

Three Marseillais, distinguished by a pronounced accent, a particular dress and capillary look (long black and smooth hair) had been sent from Marseille to work with Imad B. These three Marseillais-nicknamed Vianney, Mérou and Archad-then resided in an apartment hotel in Brussels.

Imad B. had come into contact with Mohamed “Mimo” Djeha because he attended one of his nieces. Mohamed Djeha was at the head of the six deal points of the Marseille city of the Castellane, considered as among the most profitable in Europe. On the run in Algeria, Mohamed Djeha was arrested in Oran in June 2023.

With the help of the Marseillais, Imad B. had managed to take total control of drug trafficking in the city of Peterbos. They had hunted an active band in November 2021 at the start of Place Lemmens. Based on observations and transactions, the investigators had estimated daily turnover at 29,500 euros. And relying on a few accounting parts, they had assessed the product of cocaine sales between June 2020 and April 2022 at just over 11.1 million euros.

While traffic was at its peak, Imad B. no longer lived the Peterbos. He occupied a luxury apartment on the 24th floor of a tower of the Péniches quay, in Brussels which he had rented by paying 11 months in cash. Observations had shown it between the different blocks of the Peterbos, moving there in luxury cars, to supervise traffic. He was then under an electronic bracelet to serve an earlier penalty.

Observations carried out at the Quai des Péniches had shown that other defendants regularly visited him with voluminous bags which had estimated the criminal court contained narcotics and money. Wanted under the guise of a European and international mandate, Imad B. was arrested in Barcelona in December 2021. He was preparing to embark aboard a flight to Dubai.
