A Peruvian was arrested on the Indonesian Tourist Island of Bali, after trying to import 1.4 kg of cocaine, partly hidden in a sextoy inserted in his vagina, police announced on Tuesday.

The 42 -year -old woman, whose identity was not unveiled by local authorities, arrived at Bali International Airport from Qatar on August 12. “Customs officials had suspicions about his behavior and, after consulting the police, they carried out additional checks,” said the director of the Bali police drug unit at a press conference.

The police then discovered 1.4 kg of cocaine, partly hidden in a sextoy inserted in his vagina. Police also accused her of having transported dozens of Ecstasy pills. The Peruvian told the police that she had been hired to transport drugs to Indonesia by a man she had met on the Dark Web in April, in exchange for $ 20,000.

Indonesia has one of the most severe laws in drug trafficking. More than 90 foreigners are currently detained, sentenced to death for drug trafficking, according to the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Services. The last executions of death sentences for drug trafficking, those of an Indonesian and three Nigerians, date back to 2016.

The Government of the Indonesian President Prabowo suffered, however, has favored the repatriation of foreign convicts in their country in recent months. The Frenchman Serge Atlaoui, ex-sentence in capital trouble for drug trafficking, notably returned to France in February, after an agreement between Paris and Jakarta.
