“Ineffective and dangerous”, “communication effect” … The release of humanitarian aid in Gaza by France criticized by NGOs

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the parachuting of 40 tonnes of food on Gaza this Friday. Humanitarian associations point to an expensive, not very targeted and likely to create riots.

Four planes are expected to parachute these foodstuffs and medical supplies from Jordan. A logistical choice that crystallizes the criticisms of several humanitarian associations: they judge this method partly ineffective.

On the one hand, this process of routing by air – in addition to being very expensive – would not make it possible to send all the necessary goods. According to an action manager against hunger (ACF), “Therapeutic food for children, petrol or water, goods that are extremely important in Gaza cannot be transmitted by the air”.
