According to final data published by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) at 8:45 am, the Consumer Price Index (IPC) in France was 121.62 points in July 2025 (base 100 in 2015). Thus, inflation stands at +0.2% over a month and at +1% over a year.
In June, the consumer price index was 121.36 points, an inflation of +0.4% over a month and +1% over one year.
What to know about this indicator: The consumer price index makes it possible to measure inflation, that is to say the average variation between 2 dates of the prices of the products consumed by households. As the gross domestic product (GDP) or the unemployment rate, it is a major economic indicator. It is used in particular to index the minimum wage, certain contracts, food pensions or even life annuities. The IPC is the subject of 2 monthly publications of INSEE, a provisional (at the end of the month) and a final (around the 13th of the following month). The final version is published in the Official Journal every month. The Statistical Institute also publishes the Harmonized Consumer Price Index (IPCH), used for international comparisons.
