For a reason that the gendarmes seek to determine, the two -seater machine on which these two people flew, suddenly made a return to the ground. The two paragliders then violently hit the ground.

Quickly alerted, the rescuers of the high mountain gendarmerie peloton (PGHM) of Isère and a doctor from the Samu 38 went on the spot aboard the civil security helicopter but their attempts at resuscitation proved to be in vain: the two victims died of their injuries.

The bodies were taken care of and entrusted to the funeral professionals while an investigation was open to establish the precise circumstances of this drama.
