In Japan, we train in disguise bear hunting
A series of fatal attacks prompted the police of the Tochigi prefecture to play the fight against bears with a costumed man, in a video that has become viral.

A series of bear attacks in areas inhabited in Japan worries the authorities.
For the month of July alone, the Japanese media NHK reported the death of an 81 -year -old woman in the prefecture ofIwatethe death of a 50 -year -old in the city d’Hokkaidoand two cases of injuries, one for another octogenarian in the prefecture of Nara and the second for a 75 -year -old man in the prefecture ofAkita.
False hunting with viral bear
These dramas inspired the Tochigi prefecture police, 100 km north of Tokyo, a funny exercise to fight on Monday, as shown in the American news agency Associated Press In a viral video with a humorous compilation extract.
Associated with local hunters, the members of the police trained to capture a plantigrade which pursues residents. Promised, none ours was not injured during filming, since the animal is played … by a human decked out in a rather minimalist costume.

Fighting bear attacks
If the video ready to smile, Japan is experiencing a real bear problem. Between March 2023 and 2024, 219 people were attacked by these predators in Japan, and six of them died, a record, as indicated by the Japanese authorities, cited by «The Guardian».
Pushed into urban areas and hunger villages, these animals, wild people whose population increases, do not hesitate to approach homes and attack humans, as demonstrated by the many dramas in Japan.
Local authorities have taken measures to protect themselves against bear attacks, by establishing patrols or by installing cameras. They also encourage the inhabitants to walk with bells or other objects that make noise to hope to frighten creatures with fur during their outings in nature, and above all, to avoid leaving garbage outside which could attract predators.
