Kim Jong-Un assured the chief of Russian diplomacy Sergei Lavrov of his ‘unconditional’ support in the war against Ukraine, the official media of Pyongyang reported on Sunday. The North Korean leader deemed ‘certain’ the victory of Moscow.

According to the state agency KCNA, Mr. Kim received Mr. Lavrov ‘in an atmosphere of confidence and warm camaraderie’, when North Korea and Russia tighten their diplomatic and military ties. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published on the Social Network Telegram a video of the two men shaking hands and giving themselves the hug.

Moscow and Pyongyang signed a mutual defense pact last year and North Korea sent thousands of soldiers to help to reconquer the Koursk region, taken by the Ukrainian army during the summer of 2024. North Korea also provides Russia in shells and missiles.
