Léa-Rose Charrois guest at the Canada Hockey Camp

HOCKEY. Léa-Rose Charreois draws the attention of hockey Canada decision-makers.

The young goalkeeper Drummondvilloise was invited to participate in the selection camp of the national female team under 18. The event will bring together 46 players, including six goalkeepers, in Calgary, from August 6 to 9.

This selection camp will be punctuated by ice training sessions and outside the skating rink as well as three intra -team games. Once the selection is completed, the Canadian team will play a series of three games against the United States from August 13 to 16, in Lake Placid, in New York.

“The selection camp marks an important starting point for our journey,” said the head coach of the Canadian team under 18, Vicky Sunohara. Strong the gold medal won last year, we approach this camp with pride and determination while we assess the players and work with this promising group. ”

Canada will then try to defend its title at home during the World Women’s Championship under 18. This tournament will take place from January 8 to 18, in Sydney and Membertou, Nova Scotia.

Last season, Léa-Rose Charrois posted an average of 2.41 allocated goals with the Canimex within the Quebec Hockey M17 AAA network. In the playoffs, the 17 -year -old caretaker lowered her average to 1.63.

Last winter, Léa-Rose Charrois also wrote a history page by being employed in a regular season match with the cantonniers of Magog, in the M18 AAA category.

In view of the next season, Léa-Rose Charrois has been recruited by the Patriots du Cégep de Saint-Laurent, in the first division of the college network of female hockey.
