France: The detainee who had escaped from prison in a bag was arrested

The 20 -year -old had hidden in the bag of his fellow prisoner, released on Friday.

His escape was noted only on Saturday.

The 20-year-old detainee who had escaped Corbas on Friday, near Lyon, hiding in the bag of his liberable fellow prisoner, was arrested on Monday morning, in Sathonay-Camp, in the Lyon metropolis, announced the Lyon prosecutor’s office.

Currently in police custody, the young man has been arrested “around 6 am, leaving a cellar,” said the prosecution in a press release. His fellowship accomplice “was not with him and has not yet been arrested,” it was said.

On Friday, he “took advantage of the release of his fellow prisoner to hide his package and exit” from the establishment, had detailed the prison administration at AFP. She launched an internal investigation to “shed light” on the circumstances of this escape.

At the time of his escape, noted only on Saturday, he was detained “for murder in an organized gang and offense on arms legislation, as part of a judicial information open to the specialized interregional jurisdiction (Jirs) in Paris”, adds the prosecution.

Its arrest was carried out by the OCLCO (research brigade of fugitives) and the division of organized and specialized crime (DCOS) of the Rhône, on the basis of a research mandate issued by the prosecution for “organized gang escape” and participation in “an association of criminals”, according to the same source.
