Luxury hotels have flourished in Nice for two years. But are the services of these 4 or 5-star establishments live up to their tariffs and the requirements of their customers?
We went to see the opinions left on the Tripadvisor platform concerning some of the luxury establishments that recently opened their doors.
Noise pollution, too high prices and value for money not always there were underlined. But there are also conquered and amazed visitors. If the notes assigned are all above 4, the comments are not always tender.
The Hotel du Couvent: a “wonderful place” where “luxury is paid”
With a note of 4.6/5 on Tripadvisor, the Hotel du Couvent, in Old Nice, is described as “A wonderful place to stay in Nice”by Nadine M. who stayed there 5 days with her husband in May. Assorting the maximum note of 5/5 to the establishment.
Same story for Billy W. who tested the establishment in June: “The simplicity and the taste of the convent were world class”.
But since nothing can be perfect, some downsides are listed. As the fact that taxis cannot deposit customers at the entrance to the hotel “Because they are not allowed to drive in this part of Nice”, could see Annab52 during her stay in July.
For Jo Ponte, this is a “Beautiful place”more “Luxury is paid”. The latter deplores high prices for “Small cocktails and small snacks”.
“Very bad value for money” or “exceptional place” for the anantara plaza?
Several customers of the month of July left comments on their stay at the Anantara Plaza, located opposite the Albert-deer garden. “Disappointing” For Marie G. who does not mince her words: “Very bad value for money, at 500 euros per small room, noisy on the street, with a 1.50m2 balcony”.
Another downside for Steve S.: “You will be submitted to all the noises associated with the tables and chairs above you at the restaurant on the roof”if it is a 5th floor room. He suggests booking until the 4th floor.
Pierre and Romain were delighted by this “Exceptional place to the Belle Epoque decoration” and specify that“Here everything is French refinement and chic”.
The note awarded by customers to the Anantara hotel is 4.3/5.
Very mixed opinions for the Mama Shelter
On the side of Riquier, the Mama Shelter obtains a score of 4.2/5 but harvested very mixed opinions, whether for the hotel or for catering.
“Mom don’t love you, she loves your money”loose Armin T. who stayed in the establishment in April. The latter complains about the hotel manager and the lack of services. “We were not offered to change rooms even after days of water damage”he says. An observation shared by Jade T. who indicates in her comment: “Good but lack of services”.
For others the Mama Shelter is a “Excellent address”. “We love this place”enthuses Delphine M. who adds: “The decor is original and offbeat! The restaurant is delicious, the brunch is incredible and the rooftop is ideal for decompressing a drink and snacking a piece”.
From “mediocre” to “perfect” for Maison Albar – the Victoria
The 5-Etoile establishment on avenue de Sweden wins 4.2/5.
For CharbonneAuseb, who came in July to Maison Albar, “There are still adjustments to make”. This client points out in particular “Unfortunately a rather mediocre service”. “We waited 2 hours before we have our room”sharing Arnaudvdm who finds the hotel “Dear but well placed”.
SATOF75, however, spent a “Very nice stay where high -end hotel rules [ont été] applied with great rigor “, at the beginning of the month. As well as Bernard M. who writes that “The welcome, the room, the quality of the breakfast and the restaurant all helped make this stay perfect”.
