Middle East: Twenty deaths in Israeli shots and raids on Gaza
The local civil defense reported death on Saturday of 22 Palestinians, including children, killed in the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli bombs have also killed children.
AFPCivil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Bassal said that a Gaza-Ville district in the north of the Palestinian and hungry Palestinian territory has been subject to intense bombardments for almost a week.
“We believe that more than 50,000 people remain in the Zeitoun district, most of them without water or food,” he said, accusing Israel of “ethnic cleaning” in Zeitoun and in the neighboring district of Tal al-Hawa. “Our teams do not have access to the injured”.
According to Mr. Bassal, 22 Palestinians, including several children, were killed by the Israeli army shots and strikes in the Gaza Strip. Among them, nine Palestinians were killed nearly two humanitarian aid distribution centers in the south and north of the territory, he said. Six other Palestinians, three children, perished in two strikes on the Refugee camp in Bureij (center) and the Al-Mawassi (South) area.
The spokesman, as he has been doing for almost a week now, has alarmed Israeli army operations in the city of Gaza. “The inhabitants have no place to take refuge. The situation is catastrophic. “
Ghassan Kashko, 40, a resident of Gaza-Ville lives with his family in a school where others moved. “We have forgotten what sleep is. The air raids and chariot shots do not stop. (…) We no longer have food or drinking water, “he said.
A source at the Interior Ministry linked to Hamas in Gaza declared that “the occupant continues a land military operation in the areas of Zeitoun and Tal al-Hawa”. The Israeli army has destroyed “dozens of houses and roads”, according to this source.
The Israeli reprisals offensive made Gaza at least 61,722 dead, mainly civilians, according to data from the Ministry of Hamas, deemed reliable by the UN.
