The CF Montreal acquired Matty Longstaff midfielder from Toronto FC on Wednesday, in return from Quebecers Jules-Anthony Vilsaint, $ 225,000 in general allocation money (GAM) in 2025 as well as a conditional amount of $ 50,000 in GAM in 2026.

“We would first like to thank Jules-Anthony for his commitment to the club in the past three seasons in Montreal. We wish him the best for the rest of his career, ”said the CF Montreal’s Senior, Recruitment and Sport Methodology, Luca Saputo.

Longstaff joins Bleu-Blanc-Noir after spending the last two seasons in Toronto. He accumulated 3133 minutes of play in 49 games, including 36 departures, scoring two goals and adding three assists. He also played five games in the Canadian championship, as well as three Leagues Cup games, collecting a goal in these competitions.

“His midfielder profile will bring depth to our team. He is a player who already has a great experience. We are confident that Matty will help us reach a higher level, “said Saputo.
