Nars war: a BFM dynamite cache discovered in Portneuf

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) found dynamite sticks in Portneuf on Thursday during a search in connection with a major survey related to the Blood Family Mafia (BFM) and the drug war in the Quebec region.

Early in the morning, the police went to a residence in Saint-Raymond. Without there being an arrest, this first stage led them to a second address located on the main rue, in Saint-Léonard-de-Portneuf.

It is at this place that they confiscated explosives in addition to arresting Yannick Duval, 37 years old.

Explosives technicians have been called upon to intervene to extract the residence’s dynamite sticks, which is located near a primary school, in a safe manner.

Released under conditions

Duval appeared Thursday afternoon at the Quebec courthouse. He faces a single count for possession of explosive substances.

Without a judicial history, the suspect was released with a deposit of $ 1000. He will be back before the judge on October 28 for the rest of the legal proceedings.

In the meantime, the thirties will however have to meet several conditions, including the formal ban on having a firearm, a stabbing weapon or explosive equipment. It is also forbidden to contact two people, be Alexia-Eugénie Saillant and Bryan Lavoie.

Armed to the teeth

These two names are also linked to this important investigation. The SQ had made a descent into their house, which served as a cache of weapons at the BFM, on the rank of Saint-Joseph, in Saint-Basile.

There was an important arsenal there, in particular two semi-automatic weapons and high-capacity chargers.

Proof in court

The couple had been arrested. The young woman was released under conditions, while Lavoie has remained detained since.

Confirmed explosives

Last July, The newspaper reported that Bryan Lavoie claims to have been questioned about the operation “of a bomb wick” by two important members of the BFM.

This information comes from interrogation notes from an SQ investigating sergeant filed in evidence during the Bryan Lavoie release investigation in June.

The dynamite sticks found in Saint-Léonard-de-Portneuf on Thursday seem to confirm the interest of the Gang of the Caïd Dave “Pic” Turmel for the explosives.

Shine

Yannick Duval has become the eighth person arrested as part of this investigation which has been going on for about six months.

In addition to Bryan Lavoie, his spouse and he, five other people had been arrested in another blow, this time on the southern bank of Quebec, on May 15.
