A meeting between Canada Posts and the union representing 55,000 job workers has been postponed to next week due to the availability of federal mediators, according to the Crown Society.
The two parties, which were to meet on Friday, will be more supported on August 20.
It has been two weeks since the members of the Syndicate of Posts Workers (STTP) rejected the employer’s last offers by a majority vote.
After more than a year and a half of negotiations, the two parties met the federal mediators earlier this week before agreeing to meet.
The most recent offers of the Crown Company, dating from the end of May, included salary increases of around 13 % over four years and a restructuring aimed at hiring part -time workers.
Post Canada says it is impatiently waiting to receive a complete response from the union which meets the important and growing challenges with which the postal service is faced.
Meanwhile, the union maintains its national ban on overtime.
