NVIDIA published its latest GeForce Game Ready driver (version 580.88 WHQL) on July 31, 2025. The new driver is filled with optimizations for the oldest and most anticipated titles. The latest Game Ready driver was optimized for Mafia : The Old Country 2K Games, whose release is scheduled for August 8, 2025.
Claire Dark: Expedition 33 et Mafia : The Old Country will benefit from the DLSS4 care which includes the multi-trame generation, DLSS Super Resolution and NVIDIA REFLEX, thus guaranteeing users of the RTX 40 and 50 series of the significant levels of the frame rate with a minimum input latency.
Perhaps even more important for users seeking to acquire a new instructor in an increasingly competitive market, the pilot also adds the management of 62 new compatible G-Sync screens, including Acer, AOC, Asus, Gigabyte, LG, Philips, Samsung, Viewsonic and MSI, for a tearless game.
The game optimizations aside, Nvidia made a Welcome Support Extension Ad for Windows 10 users, while Microsoft is preparing to end the support of the operating system a decade on October 14, 2025.
Nvidia has decided to extend the support of the Game Ready driver for all its GPUs RTX GeForce until October 6, 2026, one year after the end of the Windows 10 life cycle. This announcement comes as Windows 10 players represent even more than a third of the Total PC Games market, according to the figures published by Steam.
Microsoft has tried to push Windows 10 users to its latest operating system for a while, so that this decision comes practically as a large lifeline for Windows 10 users who do not want to go to the last offer of the technological giant based in Redmond.
For older hardware options, NVIDIA, however, established a roadmap for GPUs such as the GTX 1060. GPUs based on Maxwell, Pascal and Volta architecture will receive a final Game Ready pilot in October 2025 before the semiconductor giant stops supporting drivers in terms of optimization.
Subsequently, the GPUs will receive quarterly security updates until October 2028, thus extending support at 11 years, far beyond industry practices. However, Cuda’s management will also end with the next Cuda Toolkit update, which will prevent users from further optimizing the heavy calculation tasks.
For those who want fixes for their game libraries, update of the 580.88 driver also corrects several bugs:
- Ray Tracing Artifacts correction in World of Warcraft.
- Correction of performance drops in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.
- Correction of planting in Control et EA Sports FC 25.
