The ‘Law on E-ID Non’ law presented its arguments on the law on electronic identity on Wednesday, subject to the people on September 28. For him, the text is a gift for large technological groups and a springboard to a surveillance economy.

Digital identity ‘is a great danger for the freedom of Swiss citizens’ told Berne Nils Fiechter, president of young Swiss UDC and member of the referendum committee.

An E-ID is not necessary to carry out administrative procedures according to opponents of the text. They cite in particular the AGOV platform, the authentication service of the Swiss authorities which works without digital identity.

For them, the law will create the basics of commercial use of electronic identity, which will in particular allow large technological groups to demand an E-ID in exchange for their services.

The ‘Law on E-ID law is not piloted by Swiss digital integrity and includes the UDF, the young UDC, the friends of the Constitution and Aufrecht.
