Orange operator targeted by a cyber attack at the end of July: 850,000 customers concerned

No criticism was compromised: no password, email address, or bank or financial contact details are concerned, says Orange Belgium.

The IT pirate, on the other hand, accessed a computer system that contains data such as name, first name, telephone number, SIM card number, PUK code and price plan.

Upon detection of the incident, our teams blocked access to the system concerned and strengthened our security measures. Orange Belgium also alerted the competent authorities and filed an official complaint with the judicial authorities“, Adds the company, which recommends that concerned customers to remain vigilant in the face of any suspicious communication.

These customers have been or will be contacted by e-mail and/or SMS to be informed. Customers can also obtain more information via a dedicated Internet page.

While the parent company Orange has also recently been the subject of a cyber attack, the two facts have no link between them, it is still said on the side of Orange Belgium.
