An Airbus A320 from Air Corsica was struck by lightning on Monday at Orly’s Parisian airport, while boarding of passengers was underway, according to information from “Parisian”. The incident occurred on a Paris-Ajaccio flight which was to take off in the following minutes.

The impact of lightning caused the appearance of smoke at the back of the cabin. As a precaution, the crew immediately asked the passengers already present on board the plane.

The emergency services at Orly airport intervened quickly on site after the alert. Their teams confirmed the presence of a trace of smoke at the footprint, the rear part of the aircraft including the rulhes of steering and depth.

Canceled flight

Faced with this situation, Air Corsica made the decision to cancel the flight. The Airbus A320 was towed to a maintenance hangar where an in -depth technical inspection was launched.

Air Corsica organized the reaches of passengers to Ajaccio by dividing them over other flights from the company from the same airport.
