For the national holiday of our Belgian neighbors, free concerts and fireworks are organized in several cities in the region. From Tournai to Brussels via Ghent, here are our recommendations.
The emotions of concerts and fireworks of July 14 may not yet have repercussions. And yet it is the turn of our Belgian neighbors to organize their national holiday. This takes place on July 21. A public holiday for all the inhabitants of the flat country in homage to Léopold I, the first king of the Belgians who took the constitutional oath on July 21 … 1831.
If you want to continue popular festivities, you just need to cross the border. France 3 Hauts-de-France has selected three cities, where the party will be in full swing all day on Monday July 21, 2025, between free concerts, fireworks and military parade. Here is our selection.
Garden-Party in Tournai
Tournai is the door next to it. Located on the other side of the border, 30 minutes by car from Lille, the city is organizing this year a grande Garden-Party on the occasion of the national holiday. The Grand’Place de Tournai will be adorned with black, yellow and red.
From noon, the city’s official carilloness will interpret melodies imagined by artists from the flat country. Then the concerts live will spread from 2 p.m. until midnight, with several tributs including JJ Renaud, I sing Céline and Louise against attack.
A children’s village will be installed, and tasting stands of 100% Belgian products will allow you to quench your thirst and taste local specialties. In Tournai too, the municipality announces a “Magnificent fireworks”. See you at midnight.
Ghents’ Holidays
They are expected each year by all the inhabitants. The Ghent Holidays are held for ten days in the city. An unmissable event in jazz festival, street theater and free concerts.
For the national holiday, theIn the city will be in a celebration from 2 p.m. to 3 a.m., with a diversity of activities including concerts, street theater, children’s entertainment, exhibitions, kermesses, parades and processions in several places in the city.
Do not panic if you cannot go to Ghent on Monday July 21, Ghent celebrations start on Friday July 18 and end on Sunday July 27.
Bruxelles, the place to be
Like any self -respecting national holiday, a military and civil parade will take place in the palace. To see the troops on foot, vehicles and aerial parade, go from 4 p.m. For the greediest, then go to the ball game for a giant mussels and fries.
A concert that you can follow live on RTBF, Belgian national television, just like fireworks mixing drones, lasers and artifices.
