Over 3,000 hp, it’s anything!

The race for power no longer ends with the hypercars, and the electrification still comes from several notches the competition. Unthinkable a few years ago, the tutying cars, even exceeding, the 1,000 hp are no longer so rare, and some even cross the 1,500 hp mark. Byd hits a big blow with his new Yangwang U9 Track Edition, which develops the delirious power … of 3,016 hp.

Building best for its electric cars for the general public, the Chinese manufacturer byd had unveiled the Yangwang U9 last year: a showcase hypercar of the brand’s know-how, already terribly impressive with its 1,300 hp. This obviously did not be enough in the eyes of Byd, which drives the nail with an even more extreme variant: the Track Edition.

What changes? Mainly power. The new recruit would develop no less than 3,016 hp! With an engine on each wheel individually delivering 754 hp, She would become the most powerful hypercar in the worldfar ahead of the Rimac nevera, Lotus Evija and other Bugatti. Performance has not yet been communicated, but they should be particularly exceptional.

As a comparison, The classic Yangwang U9, with its “only” 1,300 hp and 1,680 Nm, is already announced with a 0 to 100 km/h in 2.36 seconds And a maximum speed of 309 km/h, even though the tip is not the favorite field of electricity. With a more than doubled power, there is no doubt that these already impressive figures will be widely exceeded.

Like most cars in its category, its shell is carbon and aerodynamics has been carefully worked. The Track Edition still refines the elements of the U9 with a front blade and more aggressive deflectors.

An ultra -technological base

During its presentation last year, This Byd had already been talked about for her extraordinary abilitieseven in the ultra-sporting world. It has in fact more often seen on Mercedes all-terrain than on this type of vehicle.

With an engine per wheel, the U9 is capable of running on itself, like an electric class. And the parallel with the star brand does not stop there: like a GLS, The Yangwang has a pneumatic suspension with a mode allowing it to “dance”. At Mercedes, this system is used in principle to free itself from a crossing rut; Here, no all-terrain use, But a pure entertainment device for occupants … and passers -by.

Do not believe that this suspension is useless: it limits the body movements, both during the acceleration and braking phases as in turns. Logic for a car that claims to be cut for the track.

Unlike Xiaomi, which multiplies marketing blows with circuit times, Byd does not provide concrete or real comparisons with performance in terms of performance.

There remains an area where this Yangwang U9 Track Edition could be unbeatable: the price/power ratio. In China, the 1,300 hp version is exchanged for the equivalent of around € 200,000. Although it is more expensive, the Track Edition could represent an excellent case in front of a Rimac Nevera, sold more than two million euros for 1,000 hp less.
