Paris Champion, the Lyon surprise, OM far behind … Opta’s predictions for this season

The OPTA supercomputer predicted the classification of Ligue 1 edition 2025-2026. Unsurprisingly, PSG would be champion, the OM would miss its season when OL would succeed.

The Opta supermarket has still struck. This time, he predicted the ranking of the 1,2025-2026 league. Unsurprisingly, PSG would be champion of France, a certainty estimated at 77.62% of chance. The rest of the podium is much more surprising. Opta class Lille in second place, despite the loss of Lucas Chevalier, party to strengthen the Parisian workforce.

AS Monaco would occupy the third position of the championship. The great surprise could well be … Olympique Lyonnais, which despite its big financial difficulties, would end in front of an ambitious but therefore very disappointing OM according to these predictions. The supermarket carried out 10,000 simulations to reach this controversial classification.

Note this paradox, the chances of title of Marseillais are higher than those of the Rhodanians (3.78% against 3.54%), however better classified according to OPTA. Nice would also be a large loser, tumbled from the fourth to seventh place in the championship. The biggest disappointment would undoubtedly be Rennes, only 10th.

On the side of the bottom of the table, the unhappy relegated designated by the Superogeur are Metz, used to making the elevator and Le Havre, the older professional football club in the country. Lorient would go into play -offs when Paris FC was just able to run in 15th position. The Ligue 1 season begins this weekend with an enticing shock between Stade Rennais and OM at Roazhon Park.
