Context and objectives – Patients early pancreatic cancer benefit
The incidence of early pancreatic cancer (EOPC) increases, but optimal treatment strategies remain vague. For example, Although adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) has shown survival advantages in pancreatic canary adenocarcinoma. For example, its specific role in EOPC patients after neoadjuvant (NACT) chemotherapy and surgery remains under-explored. Moreover, This study aimed at assessing the ACT clinical benefit in EOPC patients after NACT.
Methods – Patients early pancreatic cancer benefit
This retrospective cohort study analyzed patients with pancreatic canal adenocarcinoma from the SEER database (2006-2019). Meanwhile, which received NACT followed by curative resection. The appearance of the propensity score (1: 1) was used to balance covariables such as tumor. lymph node, metastase stage, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Overall survival (OS) and specific cancer survival (CSS) were compared between EOPC patients (<50 years) and pancreatic patients early pancreatic cancer benefit cancer with average start (AOPC, ≥ 50 years). A multivariate regression analysis of COX was carried out to identify the prognostic factors.
Results
After the pairing of propensity scores (124 EOPC against 124 AOPC), EOPC patients had a significantly longer median SG (41.0 against 29.0 months, P = 0.042) and CSS (48.0 against 30.0 months, P = 0.016). The law was an independent prognostic factor for the EOPC (OS report: Hazard = 0.495, confidence interval at 95% 0.271–0.903, P = 0.022; CSS: Risk ratio = 0.419, confidence interval at 95% 0.219–0.803, P = 0.009), but not for AOPC (P > 0.05). The analysis of the sub-groups revealed that patients with EOPC with tumor. lymph nodes, stage II disease of metastases or those who receive ACT have derived the greatest survival advantage.
Conclusions
EOPC patients have higher survival after nact. surgical resection compared to AOPC, patients early pancreatic cancer benefit ACT, ACT further improving the results in this subgroup. These results support the use of the tailor -made law for EOPC and highlight the need for potential validation.
