More than 19,000 people crisscrossed the Vaudoise and Friborg Broye on Sunday on a bike, on foot, on a roller board or any other means of soft transport. Participation in this 3rd Slowup of Broye was less than that of last year’s edition, which counted 27,000 participants. The capricious weather may be involved.

(Keystone-ATS) Throughout the 30 km route, festive areas have been developed in the localities. Entertainment, children’s games, catering stands and relaxation areas delighted the participants and extended the festive spirit of the day, the organizers announced Sunday.

Each village crossed has offered its own activities. Young and old were able to test their archery address in Corcelles-près-prèrene, attending trial bicycle demonstrations at the foot of the abbey at Payerne, dancing during animated concerts, trying to try Cornhole in Grandcour or attending a pig race and pony walks in Lully.

The event aims to promote soft and environmentally friendly mobility. This 3rd edition was the last organized by the Junior International Chamber of La Broye (JCI Broye), which will pass the torch. Discussions are underway with the municipal authorities to ensure the sustainability of this slowup in the region.
