Several thousand people participated on Saturday afternoon in the Pride Marche in Bern. Despite capricious weather, they paraded in the old town and found themselves in the federal square, where a pride festival was planned.

(Keystone-ATS) After several speeches, the demonstrators left the Waisenhausplatz to head towards the Bundesplatz around 2:00 p.m. The procession was very heterogeneous, and the participants danced in a joyful atmosphere, to the sound of music broadcast by DJs on three tanks. Many rainbow flags were brandished.

The “walkers” wanted to “send a strong signal in favor of equality, visibility of queer and social cohesion”.

On the Bundesplatz, the pride festival was to continue on Saturday with music, drag queens and political demands.

The procession route has led to temporary traffic closings and restrictions.
