After an excellent Kindle Paperwhite 2024, Amazon signs with the Kindle Colorsoft its first edge of color screen. This model promises an otherwise interesting experience for lovers of comics, magazines and other graphic color content.

For its first color reader, Amazon managed to avoid some of the pitfalls encountered by the competitors of the Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition. Thus, the latter’s screen is very bright and well contrasting, which is notable progress. Nevertheless, it is not perfect, however and suffers as competition from a very perfectible colorimetry. However, even if it is not essential on a small diagonal, this color display is a real plus. Reading on the Kindle Colorsoft is very pleasant on a daily basis, whether in color or in black & white. We ultimately have much serious to blame him. Its biggest problem comes from a formidable internal opponent, the excellent Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (2024), which certainly does not have a color screen, but is sold (at date) 100 € cheaper!

An alternative
The fifth generation Kindle Paperwhite (2021) remained a very good model, even three years after its release. Amazon however manages to improve it again on points as fundamental for a reader as the screen rendering and responsiveness. The new features present on the Kindle Paperwhite 2024 are certainly not rowdy on paper, but it was necessary to significantly increase the comfort of reading. Unlike competing models that multiply the features, it remains focused on the sole use of reading. But this reader fulfills her task to perfection. If you can afford sixty euros in addition to a more basic reader such as the Kindle 2024, you will not regret it so much this PAPERWHITE 2024 is positioned as the essential reference in the mid -range.
