Last June, Ram revealed its intention to extend the warranty coverage for 2026 model vehicles, a decision which however only concerned the American market. However, the Canadian division has decided to follow and also offer coverage of 10 years or 160,000 kilometers for the gMotoprop roller.
A longer blanket
This announcement is an important step. Consumers who will get a RAM brand vehicle for the model year 2026 will benefit from a significant advantage. The manufacturer confirms that it will offer a 10 -year or 160,000 kilometers warranty on the powertrain.
This coverage applies to a large part of the range, including the Ram 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 HD as well as the chassis-cabine models and the Promaster. Even more specialized versions, such as Ram 1500 RHO and the Ram Power Wagon In HD configuration, are included.
This decision stems from an observation by Tim Kuniskis, CEO of RAM, who says that everything costs more these days and that RAM vans are no exception. He adds that almost 80 % of buyers finance their vehicle over a period exceeding five years. It is therefore to support its customers that this change is applied. RAM also seeks to attract new buyers and relaunch its sales with its 2026 models.
Certain exclusions and conditions
According to the press release sent by Stellantis Canada, certain exclusions and conditions apply. First, electric battery vehicles are excluded, such as the Promaster EV.
Then, the warranty is not transferable and only applies to the buyer or the original tenant, unless otherwise provided by the applicable law. It covers the following elements: the engine, the transmission, the transfer box, the transmission trees, the differentials and the axles.
The offer includes vehicles purchased and rented by individuals and businesses, but excludes fleet purchases. For the latter, RAM offers specific coverage of the 5 -year or 160,000 kilometers powered motorcycle group from 2026 models.
RAM is ahead of its American rivals
At the time of writing these lines, RAM becomes the American manufacturer offering the best guarantee on its 2026 models. On the side of GM, the warranty on the powertrain remains 5 years or 100,000 kilometers, just like at Ford.
It remains to be seen whether these two rivals will follow the initiative of RAM, since the competition remains fierce between the three American giants.
