On Wednesday, July 9, the children of the L’Île aux enfant leisure center participated in a solar prevention workshop led by volunteers from the Charm (Chancelade, Anness, Razac, Marsac) of the League against Dordogne Cancer. This playful and educational intervention aimed at raising awareness among the youngest of the dangers of the sun and teaching them the right gestures to protect themselves: no exposure between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m., sunscreen every 2 a.m. and after each swim, sunglasses, a cap, for the youngest a t-shirt. The children were able to discover the importance of protecting themselves thanks to games on tarpaulin: Sun goose game, original hide and seek or a giant model to dress with the essential equipment against the sun. “The sun is a friend because he gives us vitamin D, but we must protect himself from it all the same to avoid skin cancers when you are older,” explain the volunteers. Young vacationers received UV bracelets (changing color depending on the intensity of the shelves), postcards and quizs, and posters for animators in order to continue prevention all summer.
