The Douai Court of Appeal confirms, in a decision made this Monday, July 21, that the conditions of detention of the Multi -Rrecidivist robber Rédoine Faïd, for isolation for 12 years after several escapes, are “Contrary to dignity” human.

The robber, incarcerated in the ultra-secure prison of Vendin-le-Vieil (Pas-de-Calais) who is due this week of the largest drug traffickers this week, made multiple appeals against his conditions of detention.

But this time, the court emphasizes that “Most of the tracks of improvement” so envisaged have “not been put in place”, and that the detainee’s state of health continues to deteriorate “in connection at least partial with its current conditions of detention”. The enforceable decision can be the subject of an appeal in cassation.

Rédoine Faïd, 53, was sentenced in October 2023 to 14 years’ imprisonment by the Paris Assize Court, for his spectacular escape by helicopter of the Prison de Réau (Seine-etmarne) in July 2018. He was already serving sorrows for robberies, one of which has cost the life of a municipal policewoman, and a previous escape in 2013. set for August 17, 2057.
