Three years after the release of the second opus, Plague Tale: Requiem, the French studio Asobo took advantage of the Xbox Games Showcase of the summer to announce the upcoming arrival of a new game for its series. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will be released during the year 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. The game will be available from the day of its release in the Game Pass.
The series Plague Tale started in 2019 with the release of A Plague Tale: Innocence, in which we followed the adventures of Amicia and her little brother Hugo in the middle of a hundred years war in a southwest of France already ravaged by the black plague. Affected by a terrible curse, Hugo has the power to control the hordes of rats that run through the environments of the game.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will act as prequel, and will focus on the story of Sophia, a young pillar that we meet in a Plague Tale: Requiem. This new adventure will take place in a different setting, since we will leave France to take the direction of Greece and more particularly from the island of Minotaur.
Guided by the notes of her old crew, Sophia sets out both in search of a mysterious treasure, but also of answers concerning the Macula, this famous curse that gnawed at Little Hugo. Our young pirate is not the only one at the time, and will have to face many enemies in his quest. Worse, the island of Minotaur does not have this name for nothing, and a mysterious creature seems to follow our heroine tirelessly.
Regarding the gameplay, this third opus should leave more room for action, since Sophia does not hesitate to fight to the sword to stay alive. But it will also be necessary to be agility, and especially ingenuity in order to best use the prism, an object that will be very useful for solving the different puzzles and lights of light from the island’s labyrinth.
