Renault sales increasing thanks to the success of new hybrid and electric models

The Renault group’s offensive is bearing fruit. Sales are increasing and new models, including R5, appeal.

In the first half of 2025, the Renault group sold 1,169,773 vehicles worldwide, an increase of 1.3 %. A good assessment, which could have been better without the poor performance of utility vehicles, a very important activity for the diamond. The branch seen from Renault plunges from 22.8 % to only 165,761 copies. In question, the end of the Express and a still incomplete range of the new master.

The views put aside, the group has many reasons to rejoice, with in particular the success of its latest electrified launches. Moreover, in Europe, while the market decreases by 1 %, the Renault brand increased by 8.4 %, the strongest growth in sales of the Top 15.

The Frenchman is thus carried by the successful launch of the R5, with nearly 49,000 copies sold since its launch. Renault electricity sales in Europe thus fly by 57 %.

Renault is mainly boosted by its hybrid offer, which represents more than 41 % of sales of Renault private vehicles to the Global. A new model impresses: Symbioz, long version of Captur. Only hybrid for the moment, it has found nearly 60,000 customers in the first half of 2025.

The carton of the hybrid is not limited to Renault. At Dacia too, this type of engine is attracting more and more, despite a higher price. Dacia hybrid sales increased by 11.8 % and represents 17.2 % of registrations, thanks to the success of the Duster and the successful launch of its big brother Bigster. More than two thirds of Bigster customers choose the hybrid. Note the renewed shape of the Spring. The electric city car is up 62 % with 19,452 registrations.

Alpine is not to be outdone since its first electric vehicle, the city car A290, starts pretty well. 3,699 copies were delivered in Europe from January to June.

In total, 44 % of group sales are electrified, with 12.3 % electric. A part which should continue to progress with the arrival of the Renault 4, pending that of the Twingo in 2026. Renault also intends to be a big winner of social leasing 2025, launched at the end of September.
