In a statement published on Sunday morning, the airline confirmed the resumption of its activities.
“The resumption of operations will start immediately, and the first flights will be operated this evening, but Air Canada plans that it will take several days before its operations return to normal,” said the press release.
Yesterday noon, the Minister of Employment Patty Hajdu organized a press conference where she demanded the resumption of work and imposed an enforceable arbitration between the union and Air Canada. The CCRI supported government position by also ordering the return to work.
“The CCRI has ordered Air Canada to resume its air activities and all Air Canada and Red Air Canada on -board agents to resume their duties at 2:00 p.m. on August 17, 2025,” the statement said.
Recall that the on -board agents began a strike on Saturday at 12:58 a.m., which led to the cancellation of more than 700 flights.
For logistical reasons, the company advises its customers to run at the airport, as many flights will still be canceled for 7 to 10 days.
“Air Canada strongly recommends its customers not to go to the airport unless you have a confirmed reservation and that their flight is indicated as ahead.”
