The Dual Screen Add-On de Retroid missed its delivery date for a few weeks. The manufacturer has now provided an update of delivery as well as additional details.
The Retroid Dual Screen screen is an accessory that adds a second screen to a compatible pocket computer. Announced last June with a delivery scheduled for August 5, the accessory had trouble ending up in the hands of customers. Fortunately, this is about to change.
Retroid announced on its social networks that the Dual Screen Add-on would begin to be shipped tomorrow on August 19. According to the message posted on X, the last USB cables, which seem to have caused delay, have arrived.
The post also reveals that OTA updates for the Retroid Pocket 5 and Retroid Pocket Mini V2 should arrive this week. It is not known whether these updates are linked to the functionality of the double screen or if they will bring other features or will correct bugs linked to pocket computers.
The Retroid Pocket 4 Pro will also receive an update based on a comment https://x.com/weispaints/status/195745287313604658 under the original article and the response https://x.com/RETROID0FFICIAL/STatus/19574590480820 FORD However, it seems that it could happen later.
The Retroid Dual Screen Add-on is available for $ 69 on the manufacturer’s website. It connects via a USB-C cable to supported devices such as the Pocket 5, the Pocket Mini V2, the Pocket Mini and the Pocket 4 Pro (currently available on Amazon for $ 174). Retroid also offers a version of the Dual Screen Add-on for other devices supporting the DisplayPort via USB-C and whose screen does not exceed 7 inches.
Once the module has been connected, users can duplicate their screen or run different applications on each screen. The addition of the second screen should also allow users to better emulate portable double -screen devices such as the Nintendo DS.
