In short:
  • The RTS relaunches its program “Dinner on the farm” with the children of former participants.
  • Dylan Quiquerere pupil 120 species of arthropods in his insectarium in Landeron.
  • The family farm of Bel-Air has 32 hectares of cereals and pastures.
  • Morgane Siffert cultivates old vegetables and aromatic plants in Bonvillars.

It is in old pots that we make the best soup. This is why the RTS brings up its successful program up to date, “Dinner on the farm”, broadcast between 2009 and 2014. Farmers and farmers were invited in turn on their farms for a good -natured culinary competition, all punctuated by the comments of the guests.

The television meeting, inspired by a British program, returns on Friday August 22 on our screens to stage the new generation: five children of former participants, who “now work alongside their parents and cultivate both family spirit and the passion of the profession”, describes RTS. Parents provide the service, while children sublimate local products.

These five episodes, shot between June and July, will take us to Olivier Fleury in Alle (Ju), then in Bonvillars (VD) at Morgane Siffert, at Landeron (NE) at Dylan Quiquerez, before going to Benjamin Jomini in Chexbres (VD) and Aline Luisier to Sarreyer (vs).

“Dinner on the farm: family spirit”, from Friday August 22 at 8:10 p.m. on RTS1.

Fan of rare insects, Dylan puts himself in the stove

And The Bel-Air estate At Landeron (ne) already hosts a beautiful variety of unusual animals, of the popular CyP.Phara In porcupine, what about the critters by the hundreds tapies in the insectarium in the making? The hairy or hooked legs of some residents would make more than one shiver. Dylan quiquere, he manipulates them with disconcerting ease. Even when a giant Malaysia phase, Bristling with peaks and annoyed to have been disturbed, climbed his phalanges by emitting whistles with her small wings.

This old stable with an almost tropical atmosphere is its lair. At 26, the farmer and guardian of wild animals raises 120 species of arthropods there in terrariums. Scarabés, bugs, mygals, scorpions … the rare it is, the more he likes. But Dylan does not play with his banana spider, locked up in a padlocked lodge whose label shows a skull. “It is the most poisonous in the world. She is very speed and aggressive. If she bites, it’s over! ” comments the expert.

Fana of insects since his meeting with a big scorpion phasma when he was a child, the young man with a hat riveted on the skull began to photograph the beasts in macro, then to raise them. He is preparing to open an online business (arthropods, equipment, plants), taking advantage of the publishing of “farm dinner” on RTS. “Financially, I put a lot on my shop to amortize the hours I spend in the insectarium. It should welcome the public next year. This is the novelty that I bring to the zoo. “

For five generations

It is not the entrances to the animal refuge, developed by his mother by recovering animals of veterinary seizures or surplus of zoos, nor the labyrinth of corn which bring the domain Bel-Air to life, but rather the 32 hectares of cereal crops and pastures with a view of the Bienne lake. The exploitation has been in the family for five generations. “Younger, I was not very interested in resuming. But with maturity, I realize the chance that it is to have such a area, quiet, far and close to everything. It is a gift, ”says Dylan, who first made a health installer training.

In 2014, French -speaking viewers discovered her mother, Sarah, during The final season of “Farm Dinner”. Dylan, with his punk crest embellished with a braid, made a battery solo on cans for the guests. He did not hesitate to participate in the return of the show. Even if the kitchen is really not its thing. “I took up the challenge with a friend. We invented a recipe and cooked for fourteen hours! I’m not going to spoil, but it was … surprising! ” he said, hilarious. He appreciated this “natural, discovery, sharing and pleasure, rather than competition” and keeps “good friendship” television experience with other participants.

Morgane flourishes as much in the kitchen as in the garden

If Dylan concedes being less comfortable in front of pans than with his funny critters, Morgane Sififft seems to flourish in the kitchen. Just as much, moreover, as in its field where large crops, berries and olive trees, aromatic or medicinal plants, old vegetables and edible flowers rub shoulders. It is in this open -air experience laboratory that Morgane is waiting for us this August morning, watering hose in hand.

There is no need to talk about long minutes together to understand that his family led their steps in the traces of epicure. “Since our childhood, our parents have initiated my sister Sophie and I to tastes. The theme “from the seed to the plate” also resonates completely in me. Sowing what we are going to eat and understand how it grows gives even more value and flavor to food. ”

In fact, Morgane has always given her time for the garden, the fields and the family vegetable garden in Bonvillars. And it is natural that the 30 -year -old leaves the landscape architect’s office which employs her to seek her land path, in particular by practicing market gardening in an association of vegetable baskets in Neuchâtel. At the end of this collective experience, Morgane joins the organic agricultural domain SAUVAGERAIE Created by his father, Frank.

This rich experience of life was used as part of this program for which Iel did not feel like not legitimate. “When the RTS called on me last winter, I was in depression and I could not work as much as before.” And to resume, after a short break: “But, on the other hand, it was motivating to be able to show this reality of the agricultural world under pressure which makes you feel guilty when the head does not allow to achieve what the valid body can do …”

Taste buds and eyes

Anyway, Sophie, her kitchen partner, and Morgane have put their dishes with the many flavors produced in La Sauvageraie. “With us, we eat not only with our taste buds, but also with the eyes.” Sophie comes from the world of design, Morgane from that of architecture, and it feels on the plate. “The forms attract us, we like color associations and we also appreciate playing on textures.” The result will be visible on the screen on August 29.

Of the show In which his father had participated, Frank, and his partner, Annie, in 2011, Morgane mainly keeps in mind the atmosphere of filming. “I was a young adult and I was going behind the scenes with the technical team.” The experience is quite different this year, seen from the other side of the camera. “With the life we lead, we have little time to meet between people of the earth. This program offered us this opportunity to share our experiences beyond work. This results in a beautiful friendship, whether organic or conventional. I have ten years more than the other participants. By rubbing shoulders with these young people, it gave me a lot of hope in this new motivated and intelligent generation. ”
