Savior profession of historic monuments in ruins and in danger

PORTRAIT – A commandery of the Templars in Cantal, a medieval fortress in the Cher, a fortified castle in Berry … The famous auctioneer, owner of several historic monuments bought in ruins, has forged a passion.

At 77, Claude Aguttes still does not intend to put his auction hammer; And even less his busy collector’s bag of historic monuments! Already the owner of three castles-La Prune-au-Pot (Indre), Blanzat and Tournoël (Puy-de-Dôme)-, the famous auctioneer of Neuilly-sur-Seine, passionate about history and old stones, cracked, a few months ago, for two new residences: the castle of Culan, in the Cher, and the Templière commandery of those, in the Cantal, d’Aurillac.

The two are in pitiful condition, but nothing seems to frighten Claude Aguttes since he gave up his new cap of Savior of Historical Monuments in danger. With a few other enthusiasts, he also launched the Cadet Rousselle club a few years ago.

Among the members of this informal circle bringing together esthetes, collectors and heritage enthusiasts, all owners of wonderfully restored castles …
