It is an extraordinary affair. By the quantities of drugs sold – at least 540 kilos of cannabis and more than 2 kilos of cocaine – but also by the ferocity of traffic. “It is the first time, in Valais, that dealers use such a degree of violence. They reigned a true terror, ”said Prosecutor Olivier Elsig, Monday August 4, during the trial of one of the two heads of the network. This 22 -year -old Tunisian was sentenced at 4 years in prison and an expulsion of the territory. He appealed the decision.

In total, around thirty defendants will appear before the courts. Among them, Nolan*, presumed innocent at this stage. At 24, he is suspected of being the muscles network Who, if necessary, intimidated and bench. In parallel, however, he bordered on the dream of a professional football career.

800 euros for tobacco

If the young man is not the brain of operations, he embodies the resulting violence. This is what the charge of the network leader suggests, where Nolan appears nearly ten times. Nicknamed “the deposit recuperator” – especially in the event of drug debts – he posted his prices on social networks. According to Olivier Elsig, “the pressure blow costs 300 euros, the swallowing 800 euros and, for 1000 euros, he can bring a person to a cellar.”

Last Monday, during his trial In Sierre, the boss of the traffickers admitted to having resorted to the services of the henchman. In his words, he “sent” Nolan to a debtor, but without use of force, he promises. It was in November 2022.

A few months earlier, in May, Nolan is performing a mandate for a Lyon dealer, says the prosecution. The objective? Recover a drug debt of 5000 euros. The scene, filmed and paid to the file, is of rare violence. According to the public prosecutor, Nolan drops the debtor on the ground and “strikes it violently”, especially in the face, “with a metal chain or a belt”. Armed with a knife pointed towards the victim’s face, he screams: “I smash your throat, I smash your throat, you hear.”

Follows, still according to the prosecution, “a kick on the face” while man always lies on the ground. He is now claimed for 10,000 euros, duplicate his debt, to “carte” him money, according to Nolan’s statements to investigators. The operation is in vain, the victim will not pay a penny. After this episode, she suffered from an “swollen lip, fellows on the face, hematomas on the body and pain for several days”.

The Elsig prosecutor is formal: “This video is worth all the indictments.”

“A benevolent guy”

In the eyes of justice and investigators, Nolan* is a violent and unscrupulous executor. However, the people who rubbed shoulders with a “benevolent and positive man”. The gap is abysmal. For some, he was a deposit recuperator, for others, a footballer in the making.

In May 2022, where the prosecution placed it in the heart of the passage to tobacco mandated by the Malfrat Lyonnais, the young man also evolves on the grounds with the second garrison of FC Sion. At the time of the alleged facts, he is even contked with the first team – without having yet gleaned minutes of play. “He is a good player, very rough, but really nice,” recalls one of his former teammates.

In the club’s fold, the judicial problems of Nolan* nourish rumors as much as they create amazement. Among the people who climbed directly or indirectly around the young man, “no one imagined such a scenario. We are talking about a well-educated, Protestant guy, who regularly goes to worship, “he adds.

In the supervision of the FC Sion, we regret the trajectory taken by the player. “It’s a shock. He was at the gates of the first team. He was not yet at the level, but he missed a career, “said a source. In his sports entourage, there is a probable “naivety in his actions”. In other words, “he did not take the measure of what he was doing”.

From stadium to prison

Appreciated within the club – he is a young man from the training – Nolan would have gradually gathered. “At the end, he was less precise in his professionalism,” sums up a framework. We are in 2024. “His behavior changed, he became more shady and committed thefts within the locker room.” The player is then sanctioned internally and leaves FC Sion.

In parallel, the investigators complete the case. A month later, in April, he was arrested by the police and placed in preventive detention. He will spend three months behind bars, with one exception: the public prosecutor gives him a visit to his father, dying. Nolan* will however decide not to attend the funeral, where it was planned that plainclothes police supervised it. The Hope team of the FC Sion and the staff made the trip. “It was unclear that he was in prison,” said a former teammate.

Today, Nolan* is a free man and benefits from the presumption of innocence. Pending his trial – which should take place soon – he has resumed football in a first league club, the highest level of amateur football. A good signal, according to a source from the FC Sion. “He is not the only player in Switzerland to have plunged. This trajectory is unfortunately known, especially for guys from disadvantaged circles. If they no longer have football, they no longer have a net. We can only hope that this new adventure offers him a framework. ”
