An American national was killed by a buffalo he tracked up during a hunt in South Africa, local police told AFP on Friday.

The 59-year-old hunter, who died on Sunday near Makhado, was from Dallas in Texas, according to a statement transmitted by a police spokesman for the Limpopo province.
“The deceased had stomach injuries and on the sides,” he said. “After a more in -depth investigation, they were told them [aux policiers] that the person had been injured by the buffalo that he was hunting and that the buffalo in question also lay not far away with a bullet in the body. ”
These animals can weigh up to more than 800 kg and are among the “Big Five”, these most massive mammals popular with photographers as fans of hunting trophies.
