A 15 -year -old British teenager found himself in Milan after boarding the bad flight at Mahon airport in Minorca (Spain), reports «The Guardian». The incident occurred this Monday while the young boy, who was on vacation with his family on the Spanish island, was to return to London.

Separated from his family at Mahon’s highly frequented airport, the teenager managed to climb a plane for Milan Malpensa without having a ticket. Parents, worried not to find their son, immediately gave the authorities alert.

The analysis of video surveillance images of the departure zone revealed that the boy had managed to get around the controls and embark on a flight for Italy. “The agents checked the cameras in the departure zone and found that the teenager had managed to embark on a flight to Milan. The airport had already activated its missing child alert system, but it was disabled after confirmation that the boy was on his way to Italy, “said a spokesman for the National Police in Mallorca.

EasyJet Investigation

It was during the flight that Easyjet staff noticed the unusual presence of a passenger without a ticket. Upon arrival in Milan, the teenager was taken care of by the staff of the airline and the Italian local authorities. “The passenger was welcomed by our team and the local authorities in Milan, and we organized the trip of a family member to find him that day,” said an Easyjet spokesperson.

The teenager’s mother must have taken a flight for Italy in turn to recover her son. Easyjet said conducting an investigation “Airport and his assistance provider in stopover in Mahon” to understand how this incident was able to perform and how a minor was able to travel alone on the bad flight without a ticket.
