Lolitaa small chihuahua crossed dog is currently blocked in Portugal, its country of origin. Its owner seeks to repatriate it to Switzerland after the death of her father. But the dog cannot travel in the cabin, because it narrowly exceeds the limit set by the Swiss company: 8.2 kilos, against a maximum authorized of 8 kilos, including transport bag, tells «20 minutes».

However, the support in the hold is excluded for Lolita. Aged and suffering from heart problems, she would not support stress, according to her veterinarian. Despite this, the company refuses for the time being any derogation, indicate our colleagues. And the other airlines that might take Lolita do not seem more flexible.

At present, Italy is the only country to have opened a new path last May. The civil aviation authority has authorized the transport of animals in the cabin without weight or size limit. A global exception, which could benefit many animals, too fragile for a trip in the middle of luggage.
