Apple finally publishes its public beta iOS 26, macOS 26 and iPados 26: Here’s how to install them

The Liquid Glass on Mac

MacOS also adopts Liquid Glass design through its entire interface. Widgets and the control center wear a liquid and transparent aesthetic while parameters and software like Safari use a superposition of flat white (or black according to your theme) to generate relief.

Honestly, the difference is much less felt than on iOS, especially if like me, you never look at your office or your widgets. But this global transparency has its little effect, it must be said.

A new smarter spotlight

This is one of the great novelties of MacOS Tahoe 26: a spotlight update, the MacOS all -to -do. Much smarter in this new iteration, Spotlight displays a classification of results according to the type of request (application, file, folder, contacts) to better find your data.

The new spotlight also makes it possible to carry out actions directly from the launcher, such as writing a message, an email or adding events to your calendar. The application will improve over time when the developers will use the API of this new version of Spotlight.

Person your folders in depth

With MacOS Tahoe 26, you can now personalize your files in several ways. It is thus possible to modify the color, to add a symbol to it, but also an emoji to better identify them.

Note that it is possible to change the default color of all your Mac files by going to system settings> Appearance> Folder color.

A control mission to your image

Mission Control is the setting bar that allows you to activate or deactivate certain options (Wi-Fi, Bluetoo, Airdrop), but also adjust the sound and brightness.

In MacOS Tahoe 26, the module becomes fully customizable as on iOS and iPados. You can thus the options that situate you, whether they relate to system parameters or features from third -party applications.

You can resize each button as you see fit and there is even a pagination system in publishing mode to categorize the different settings.

The new game game

Apple continues to bet on gaming for its Mac with this time a new game application to replace its aging game center.

If there is nothing to compete with Steam, this new interface can boast of being much easier to use. You can chat with friends, see what they play and join them in the middle of.

Note that a new energy saving mode (in addition to the game mode) will be offered to you when you play in nomadic mode.

What else?

Of course, these are not the only new features of MacOS Tahoe 26, which brings several improvements in small touches to many of its native applications. We can note:

  • The arrival of a newspaper application
  • Instant translation in the messages application
  • Notes is now compatible with the Markdown language and can accommodate call transcriptions
  • The pinned collections arrive in photos
  • Safari is faster and offers a new, much more practical picture-in-picky mode

And many other new products that we cannot list here.
