Tuesday August 12, at the Berttoli association, they were all there: the former rugby players of the Racing Club of France. 57 Racingmen, who all wore the famous sky and white jersey, were present. The youngest (Patrick Serrière, Michel Tachdjian, Christophe Deslandes, Laurent Cabannes…) played in the 1990s and the dean, Henri Lasserre, is champion of France 1959. All generations were represented.
This traditional lunch was established in the 1960s by the Champions of France, the Landais Michel Crauste, the Béarnais François Moncla and the Basque Arnaud Marquesuzza. “This is the first time that I have come and I am delighted to find the boys with whom I have played and that I have not seen for 40 years for some, but also all the other generations,” says with a big smile Christophe Mombet.
All remember their years at the club. “For me, it’s my second family,” says Michel Taffary, former international. I experienced exceptional moments. If I became what I have become, it is thanks to my players and the leaders of the time. »»

For the first time, Jacky Lorenzetti, president of Racing 92, was present at lunch. He started by recalling that “Racing is rugby, but it is also a state of mind which is the result of friendship and living together between the oldest and the players of today and tomorrow”. He explained that the club today had the priority strategy for training and that it counted on the elders to “bring us young people”.
All thanked Jacky Lorenzetti for making the link with the professional universe. They are worried about the future of their association in 10 years and hope that the “elders of tomorrow” will keep this desire to bring together all generations, this spirit of mutual aid and conviviality of the RCF.
They can count on Marco Teyseyre to bring together all these beautiful people and organize a lunch that they all appreciated.
