The artists invade the streets of Neuchâtel for the 34th Festival Buskers

Neuchâtel’s pedestrian streets have been hosting the festival buskers until the end of the week since Tuesday. The 34th edition of the summer meeting which highlights the street arts offers shows, concerts and performances at free prices for the Neuchâtel public. Organized in six places in La Vielle-Ville, the buskers hosts 21 companies and groups from 19 countries that will resonate the cantonal capital until Saturday. Sunday, the festival meets the public in Marin.

For this new edition, the recipe remains the same: take possession of Neuchâtel until the end of the week. Even with its 34 candles, the buskers keeps its DNA according to its co-programmer Léa Rovero: “We have a concept that we like and that works well. What changes is the programming and its fantastic artists who come to amaze the public. »»

Rather hat or QR code?

The format remains the same but a novelty still marks this 34th edition: the public has the possibility this year to remunerate the companies thanks to a QR code. “The artists who wanted it have QR codes, which allows them to take digital payments,” explains Léa Rovero. An innovation that is part of the trend of other events in Switzerland, even if the cash remains appreciated and the traditional hat of rigor for buskers’ troops.

The festivities continue every evening from 5 p.m. until Saturday in the streets of the city. On Sunday, the buskers will meet its audience at La Ramée beach in Marin, for the closing of the festival. /LPH
