“The Golf Golf Club Gowan Brae is very happy to welcome the Canadian Junior Male 2025 championship. We hope that players and their families will appreciate maritime hospitality this week, as well as the golf challenge offered by our journey,” said Adam Chamberlain, Director of Golf at Gowan Brae.

Located on the shores of the Bathurst Havre, the Golf Golf Club Brae combines picturesque views and technical challenge for golfers of all levels. The surrounding water and the prevailing winds, characteristic of the course, are felt on 14 of the 18 holes, perpetuating the natural test imagined by the Canadian architect CE (Robbie) Robinson during the design of the site in 1958.

“The route offers magnificent views of the haven of Bathurst and the heat bay, but the marine breeze and the fast greens will put the players to the test during this national championship. Our members and the local community are delighted to host this prestigious event, ”added Chamberlain.

With its fast greens and its windy conditions, the course of 6,700 yards is considered to be one of the most demanding in Atlantic Canada since the completion of its 18 holes in 1962. The 17th hole, a normal three of 243 yards to play against the wind, and the 13th hole, a normal four of 447 yards with sloping aisles and a three -level green, are among the greatest challenges of the route and To distinguish Gowan Brae in the Canadian golf landscape.

Since 1938, the Canadian male junior championship has brought together the country’s best junior talents for four captivating competition rounds. The juvenile championship (16 and under) has been integrated into the tournament since 1970, and the winner receives the Jack Bailey trophy. Only 11 players managed to win junior and juvenile titles the same year, the last being Alex Zhang de Richmond, C.-B., in 2023.

The rounds of the junior and juvenile championships are disputed simultaneously on 72 holes and are open to male amateur golfers who did not reach their 19th and 17th anniversary respectively on August 1.
