The State of Vaud and the City of Yverdon-les-Bains have signed a new tripartite subsidy agreement with the Organizing Association of the Festival des Arts on rue Castrum. Lasting four years, it sets the annual cantonal subsidy to 80,000 francs and that of the city is gradually 263,000 francs in 2025 to 300,000 francs in 2028.
(Keystone-ATS) The planned total subsidy envelope thus amounts to more than 1.4 million. The recently signed document “sets objectives aimed at consolidating the artistic offer, improving infrastructure and the reception of the public as well as ensuring the stability and professionalization of organizational teams,” said Yverdon’s city on Thursday in its weekly newsletter.
“This support underlines the deep commitment of the signatories in favor of the Yverdonian cultural scene and their will to ensure the continuity and the solidity of this emblematic event,” she explains. City and canton salute an “ambitious, inclusive, innovative and mainly free radiant programming throughout French -speaking Switzerland”.
The last agreement, signed for three years in 2021, fixed the annual cantonal subsidy at 70,000 francs and that of the city at 170,000 francs. The 2025 edition has just ended last weekend on a “very delightful assessment”, with some 40 multidisciplinary projects and no less than 115 artists in thirteen places in the thermal city. The next edition, the 26th, will be held from August 6 to 9, 2026.
