The Integrated Center for Health and Social Services (CISSS) of the Montérégie-Est, through its Eco-CMDPSF (Council of Doctors, Dentists, Pharmacists and Midwives), has deployed prescribed, the first Quebec prescription program
exposure to nature based on evidence.
This program aims to establish exposure to nature as a new pillar of health, alongside healthy eating habits, sleep and physical exercise. As little as 20 minutes outside can make the difference.
Doctors, but also other health professionals can now sign “prescribed” prescriptions to their patients to benefit from the benefits of spending time in kind. A map listing all the East Montérégie parks has been developed to introduce new places to the population. Do not hesitate to talk about it with your health professional!
“Presture testifies to our desire to integrate innovative approaches, sustainable and based on science in our interventions. Building on the outdoors is to bet on global and responsible health, ”says Dre Élise Lortie, head of the department of anesthesiology of the CISSS of East Montérégie and President of the Eco-CMDPSF Committee Montérégie-Est. This initiative is strongly inspired by the project of health professionals on prescribed .ca where you can find all the information on the benefits of walking in kind, as well as the ambassadors of the initial project. Thank you to all those people who have the health and well-being of their patients at heart!
