The coast awaits an influx of visitors this weekend of August 15

The coast expects a lot of visitors for the upcoming extended weekend. According to figures from the Westtoer Westtoer Flanders Tourist Office, the average occupancy rate of hotels for the coming weekend is between 85% and 90%. Last weekend was the best summer weekend for coastal tourism.

The average hotel occupancy rate for the coming weekend reaches 90%, with a 95% peak for nights from Friday to Saturday and from Saturday to Sunday. We are also waiting for a large number of tourists for a day and secondary residents.

The SNCB will also put additional trains into service at their destination and from the coast. After a second, less good July, this renewed activity is welcome for coastal tourism. Last weekend, the seaside tourism sector has recorded its best weekend in the summer so far, partly thanks to good weather.

Some 480,000 tourist nights have been recorded, 2% more than the weekend of July 21. In hotels, the average occupancy rate was between 85% and 90%. During the two days of the weekend, 330,000 tourists for a day went to the coast. These Monday 11 and Tuesday August 12, many tourists for a day also went to the coast to find some freshness in the face of tropical temperatures. Monday, there were 110,000 and Tuesday, 130,000.
